What is Ban Boaz?
Ban Boaz is a business-based community that supports Lao youth as they learn, grow, and prepare for their future.
In Lao, “Ban (ບ້ານ)” means “village,” and Ban Boaz seeks to be a place where people are connected through trust, shared values, and everyday life.
Boaz’s Kitchen is the restaurant at the heart of Ban Boaz. By serving thoughtfully prepared, high-quality food to customers, it functions as a practical platform for building community. More than just a workplace, it serves as a learning environment where young people develop hands-on skills in cooking, service, and daily operations, while also cultivating responsibility, integrity, and teamwork.
Through operating a restaurant, Ban Boaz provides young people with real-world experience that builds confidence and prepares them for long-term independence and future entrepreneurial opportunities.
Ban Boaz also partners with local community groups to serve under-resourced neighborhoods and marginalized neighbors. By building meaningful relationships and contributing through business, we aim to bring positive and lasting impact to the wider community.
To further support this vision, Ban Boaz is raising a one-to-one matched startup fund to help young people take their next step toward entrepreneurship and self-reliance. This fund is designed to walk alongside each participant as they prepare and launch their own venture.
